How much weight can an olive hold? To what extent can a thin strip of wood be bent? When is the moment the glass crushes the gherkin?

Forming sculptural installations as a way of exploring support and balance mechanisms.  Bending, balancing, suspending and stacking the work disrupts architectural space whilst simultaneously pushing the strengths, pliability and display of material. There is a continuing consideration of fundamental, uneasy tensions between the precariously balanced and the stable steel structural forms.  Structures used to hold a single gherkin can appear preposterous, ludicrous and over the top. I seek for the works to be minimal, clean and elegantly constructed.  Through a patient and delicate approach the correct tensions, weight and angle are found, often resulting in a low frequency anxiety surrounding the frameworks.
